SUMMER QUR’AAN CLUB

Assalaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullaah wa baraakaatuhu Mama!

We would like to invite you and your little ones to the maiden season of Faithful Roots Qur’aan Club.

We launched Faithful roots out of the need to provide strong foundations for our children that will enable them thrive in their servitude to Allaah and be grounded in their identities as Muslims.

Through this, we hope that they will grow into people of barakah; who as Ibn Qayyim defines, will bring benefit wherever they are.

The objectives of our Qur’aan club for your children are:

1. To nurture a love of the Qur’aan in them
2. To connect them with the teachings of the Qur’aan, taking lessons that will shape their worldview and build their character
3. To expose them to the meanings of the Qur’aan so that they learn to approach it as a guide to be reflected upon and not simply read mindlessly
4. To learn the etiquettes of recitation and engaging with the Qur’aan
5. To teach them the virtues of the Qur’aan and engaging with it, so that they may serve as incentives for them to cultivate a relationship with the Qur’aan

All this by the Will & Help of Allaah, and we ask for His assistance.

In order to meet our objectives, the Program will cover:

1. Adab and Virtues of reciting the Qur’aan: Weekly lessons on the etiquettes and virtues of the Qur’aan and its people

1. Tasheeh at-Tilawah: Correcting recitation ensuring that the letters are recited from their correct makhaarij (articulation points) & the harakaat (vowel sounds) are completed in recitation.

1. Tafseer: Narrating the lessons from the Suwar through storytelling and relevant/relatable examples, while taking lessons from its teachings.

1. Crafting & Activities: Consolidating the lessons through hands-on and visual exercises and crafting.

For this season, Our focus is Aqeedah - the foundation of the religion. So we will be focusing on the following Suwar:

1. Surah al-Faatiha: It covers the 3 types of Tawheed, Encourages seeking help from Allaah alone

1. Surah al-Ikhlaas: Emphasising the Oneness of Allaah, Encourages worshipping Allaah alone

1. Surah al-Feel: Lessons on Allaah’s preservation of His deen, Encourages to trust Allah and be on the side of truth

1. Surah al-Kawthar: Matters of Ghayb (Unseen), Encourages doing good to earn the pleasure of drinking from the Prophet’s pond

The sessions will be three days a week in shaa Allaah, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 1pm, and will run from 6th August to 29th August, 2024.

The Venue for our program is Masjid as-Salam Maitama, Abuja.

The instructors for this season are:

Fatimah Umm Bunny and Umm Kulthum who are both Homeschooling Mums and active seekers of Knowledge.

The cost of the program is: 

N40,000 for 4 weeks. A discount is available for siblings.

Food will NOT be provided, each child is expected to come with their food and/or snacks.

As Homeschooling Mums, we appreciate the importance of one-on-one attention in learning and so, for this season we have only 10 spots available.
